Development Analyst - Latham, NY

Job Description

 

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to support several parts of our development team in our Latham. NY office. This position is for someone inspired by the chance to work across renewable energy projects and gain experience in site evaluation, technical due diligence, financial modeling, interconnection analysis, and early-stage project design in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.

​

The Analyst will assist the team throughout the development cycle and will work closely with project engineers, interconnection specialists, and development partners. They will play an important role in supporting project execution, greenfield site analysis, interconnection applications, market research, and preliminary engineering work. Responsibilities include detailed site reviews, energy production estimates, early-stage financial modeling, support for interconnection capacity studies and applications, and preparation of materials needed for permitting, design, and internal approvals.

Qualifications

​

  • 0-4 years of experience in renewable energy, engineering, or related analytical work. Experience in project development, project finance, or infrastructure investment is a plus.

  • Strong interest in renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and the technical and financial drivers of solar and storage projects.

  • Excellent analytical abilities with experience interpreting engineering, environmental, and financial data.

  • Interest in interconnection processes, energy modeling, and early-stage project design

  • Familiarity with renewable energy project development, permitting, and construction

Vice President, Capital Markets and Project Finance

Job Description

​

We are seeking a senior capital markets and project finance leader. This role will be accountable for structuring the capital design of the assets the Company is building, including senior construction and permanent debt, tax equity, mezzanine and Holdco facilities, and equipment facilities. In coordination with senior leadership, the VP will be responsible for designing the capital needs, evaluating structures and running comparative scenarios, marketing and pitching the needs to the capital markets, managing all phases of negotiations, closing transactions, and closely coordinating with the team to ensure appropriate staffing and ultimate success of the facilities. The VP will further be very closely tied in with the short- and long-term capital design of the business along with the rest of the leadership team.

​

This role is for an experienced renewable energy professional. Ideal candidates will have significant experience with a variety of capital structures, strong relationships in the capital markets, and a sharp understanding of renewable energy finance. Experience with distributed projects and community solar is a major plus. The VP will be accountable, personable, relationship driven, sharply attuned to detail and execution, self-driven, and a complete team player.

Responsibilites

  • Evaluate capital needs of the business

  • Design and map work plans to market and shape business needs

  • Prepare marketing materials and CIM production and oversee modeling with support of analyst and associate bench

  • Pitch and roadshow the placements

  • Run selection process and term sheet negotiation.Adept at racking and stacking options and solutions, eye towards quantitative results and structural solutions for business health.

  • Coordinate with portfolio managers as to project timing, diligence, key features of the assets and markets

  • Manage term sheet negotiations, coordinate legal and 3rd party resources, drive execution documentation

  • Translate results, risks, and decisions for executive review

  • Coordinate with team around resourcing and deal support

  • Lead facility management efforts, ensure proper staffing and oversight of compliance, draws, term outs, other ongoing features

  • Closely coordinate with other execution team members, EPC resources, and asset management

  • Collaborate closely with the capital markets, foster relationships and be on the cutting edge of industry trends

Qualifications

  • 8-15+ years’ experience in renewable energy project finance and capital markets

  • Maturity, leadership, strong relationships in industry

  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a history of managing financial, technical, and contractual aspects of execution
